03 Space launch 101

A launch vehicle is the engine of the whole operation: a rocket-propelled system built to carry payload from Earth's surface into orbit and beyond. Our WEB-X carrier rocket leads the fleet in raw power. At 150 metres tall, it dominates the pad long before ignition.

A spaceport is exactly what it sounds like: dedicated launch infrastructure, the seaport or airport equivalent for spacecraft. Ours sits at Cape Canaveral, positioned to ride the Earth's rotation and squeeze every bit of extra velocity out of liftoff.

A space capsule is a crewed spacecraft engineered for blunt-body reentry, no wings required. It's where you'll live for the length of the flight, outfitted with a space gym, cinema, and enough onboard amenities to make the trip feel short.
